Explore the hills of Rwanda on an electric bike
Rwanda is known worldwide as the impressive land of a thousand hills, a title it certainly lives up to. For the adventurous traveller there is no better way to take on this fascinating landscape than with an electric bike. At CvA travel we understand that the steep slopes and rough sand tracks can be demanding at times. With the extra power of an e-bike you ride uphill effortlessly and keep enough energy to take in the striking panoramas. Whether you join a group trip or choose an individual adventure, the reliable pedal assistance gives you a great sense of freedom. That makes every ride through the dense forests and past the small, authentic villages of Rwanda an experience and a journey of discovery to remember.
Enjoy Vietnam on cycling holidays with the electric bike
A trip through South-East Asia always has something magical about it, but Vietnam truly exceeds every expectation. Especially for travellers who want the best possible comfort, we offer fine cycling holidays with the electric bike through this varied and cultural country. Ride calmly and with confidence past the wide, bright green rice fields, picturesque waterways and traditional country villages. Because the e-bike takes the hard work off your hands, you are able to cope far better with the tropical temperatures and humid conditions. At CvA travel we provide distinctive routes of our own that lead you away from mass tourism. That means you cover greater distances with ease and have all the time to taste local delicacies along the way or have a chat with the extremely welcoming local people.
Experience the adventure in Laos with the electric bike
Laos lends itself well to a trip by bike. You ride through a green and mountainous landscape, past waterfalls and centuries-old temples and over roads that are far from always flat or paved. It is on those routes in particular that an electric bike offers extra support. With an e-bike you decide for yourself how much assistance you use. On longer climbs and poor roads you can switch in a little extra power, while at other moments you ride with virtually no assistance. That way you keep more energy for the surroundings and have to think less about your pace or your fitness along the way. At CvA travel we deliberately seek out the quieter routes. You ride through remote areas, over hilly roads and through small villages where you can stop along the way and experience daily life close up. The e-bike makes it possible to cover greater distances and differences in altitude without the physical effort determining the trip. That way cycling through Laos remains above all what it should be: a way of discovering the country at a calm pace.
Which destination is suitable for an e-gravel bike or e-mountain bike?
In South Africa, Vietnam, Laos and Tanzania you can ride an e-gravel bike or e-mountain bike, depending on the route. An e-gravel bike suits you if you enjoy riding at a sporty pace and are used to a forward-leaning position. An e-mountain bike, with its wider tyres and suspension, offers more comfort and control on rough and unpaved sections.
South Africa
The long, continuous gravel roads of the Klein Karoo are very well suited to an e-gravel bike. If you would rather have a little more stability on loose stones, corrugations and potholes, you can choose an e-mountain bike.
Vietnam and Laos
In Vietnam, Laos and on the combined trip through both countries, either bike is possible. The electric assistance is welcome on the longer climbs in the mountainous north. Because of the changing road surface an e-mountain bike is the most comfortable choice, while an experienced gravel rider can equally ride an e-gravel bike.
Uganda and Rwanda
For Uganda and Rwanda we recommend an e-mountain bike. Here you ride largely on unpaved surfaces and some sections include rough tracks, large stones and short, steep climbs. In both countries we have our own high-quality Specialized e-mountain bikes.
Tanzania
On a trip around Kilimanjaro you can ride an e-gravel bike or e-mountain bike. The route consists of gravel roads, unpaved sections and tarmac. If you want to ride to the summit of Kilimanjaro, only an ordinary mountain bike is suitable. A gravel bike, e-gravel bike and e-mountain bike cannot be used for this climb. For this you can bring your own mountain bike or hire a suitable bike through us.
The hire of an electric bike is not included in the trip price. Indicate with your request which bike you prefer and we will look at the options and availability.
