A transfer is waiting at the airport to take you to your first accommodation in Entebbe. Here you can quietly acclimatize and prepare for the adventure ahead. Did you bring your own bike? Then this is the moment to assemble it. If you are renting a bike, it will be ready the next day and after a few adjustments, you can hit the road right away. • Meals: Not included

    • Accommodation: Via Via Hotel

  • Day 2: From Kampala to the Griffin Falls

The day starts early with a hearty breakfast, after which you set off on an adventure. A short boat trip takes you to the starting point of the route you will cycle. You will ride on off-road trails. Along the way, you will pass local communities just outside the hustle and bustle of Kampala. One of the highlights is a visit to the Ssezibwa Falls, surrounded by a lush, green landscape. The water crashes forcefully through narrow passages between sharp rocks, providing an impressive spectacle and a soothing sound. Pay close attention, because this area is home to red-tailed monkeys and vervet monkeys. The tour continues past tea plantations, vast sugarcane fields, and through the tropical rainforest of Mabira. This area is often seen as a typical African jungle and offers an unforgettable cycling experience. You are surrounded by birdsong and might even spot a few wild animals among the trees. Here we also find the Griffin Falls.

    • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

    • Accommodation: Griffin Falls Camp

  • Day 3: From the Griffin Falls to Jinja

From the impressive Griffin Falls, you cycle through the Mabira Forest, riding between old, imposing trees on your way to Jinja. Jinja is located at the source of the famous Nile. This day offers an ultimate adventure: winding through the forest, over unpaved paths, surrounded by monkeys, butterflies, and various birds. Cycling is always fun, but on these kinds of paths and in this enchanting nature, it becomes truly special. Upon arrival in Jinja, you step onto a boat with your bike that takes you to the other side of the Nile. The perfect end to this day is a breathtaking sunset that lights up the sky in all kinds of colors.

    • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

    • Accommodation: Nile River Explorers Camp

  • Day 4: A well-deserved rest day

At CvA travel, we have visited many unique places, but nowhere does rafting offer such a spectacular experience as in Jinja. The river has rapids that you will hardly find anywhere else in the world. Do you dare to take on the challenge and step into the rubber boat to brave the wild river? Don’t worry, safety always comes first. There is always an extra safety boat present to ensure the trip goes smoothly. Or do you prefer to stay on the bank to take fantastic photos of the surroundings? If you prefer to take it a bit easier today, there is a relaxing activity on the program: an enchanting sunset cruise on the Nile. Enjoy the breathtaking views, the magnificent colors of the setting sun, and observing wild animals from the water. This unique experience makes a peaceful end to the day absolutely unforgettable.

    • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

    • Accommodation: Nile River Explorers Camp

    • Optional Activity: Rafting on the Nile € 180.00 p.p. (Not included)

  • Day 5: An adventurous cycling day from Jinja to the Kalagala Falls

Today another adventurous bike ride is on the schedule. The route leads over unpaved roads and paths along the banks of the Nile, through lively villages, and through the green landscape of Uganda. Along the way, you will be treated to no less than three impressive waterfalls: the Itanda, the Busowoka, and as a spectacular finale, the Kalagala Falls. The Itanda Falls are among the hidden gems of Uganda. After the Murchison Falls, they are the most powerful in the country and form an impressive spectacle of roaring water. Between the powerful rapids lie small, green islands that offer a unique view of the natural spectacle. The area is also a paradise for water birds and offers plenty of opportunities for wildlife. But that’s not all: this day has another special experience in store. After a beautiful bike ride, you step into a canoe to cross the Nile – with your bike on board! This special experience brings you to the other bank, where you will be surprised once again by the beauty of the surroundings.

    • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

    • Accommodation: Wildwaters Lodge Kalagala

  • Day 6: From the Kalagala Falls towards Great Outdoors

The adventurous cycling trip continues along the banks of the famous Nile. This route once again offers a unique look at authentic Uganda and gives you the chance to experience the daily life of the local population up close. But today is not just about cycling. After an active morning, there is a transfer to Great Outdoors, an ideal place for nature lovers. This serene retreat, located in a wooded area, offers the perfect opportunity to catch your breath and completely relax. Here you can enjoy the peace, recharge your energy, and prepare for the next bike ride. Do you want to treat yourself to a refreshing end to the day? • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

    • Accommodation: The Great Outdoors

  • Day 7: Cycling to Amuka

During this stage, you will explore a beautiful lush landscape by bike. It is no surprise that Uganda is often described as the ‘green pearl of Africa’. You will notice that the terrain gradually becomes flatter, which offers a welcome change after the past few days. You cycle through areas with agricultural fields full of pineapples. Naturally, we make a stop to enjoy some delicious fresh fruit. Later in the day, you will take a transfer to Amuka.

    • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

    • Accommodation: Amuka Safari Lodge

  • Day 8: Rest day with a transfer

Today is a day to catch your breath, but that certainly doesn’t mean there is nothing to do. You are in Uganda, and this country has so much more to offer! This day is all about a unique experience: a trek to spot rhinos. And yes, you read that right – rhinos! Accompanied by a local ranger, you will set off on foot in the Ziwa Rhino & Wildlife Ranch to search for these impressive animals in their natural environment. A special fact: Ziwa Rhino & Wildlife Ranch is the only place in Uganda where white rhinos live. Since 2005, this reserve has been working hard on their mission to eventually return this endangered species to their original habitat at the Murchison Falls. During the trek, you will not only enjoy seeing the rhinos but also the many other wild animals and the rich bird population. After a morning full of impressions and unique encounters, it is time to travel on to your next accommodation.

    • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

    • Accommodation: Kabalega Resort

  • Day 9: On the way to Budongo Forest

After yesterday’s experiences, it is time to get back on the bike and head for the Budongo Forest. This ancient forest borders the Murchison Falls National Park and is a unique combination of dense forest and vast savanna. The area is rich in biodiversity and provides a home for a variety of wild animals, including chimpanzees and other monkey species such as red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and olive baboons. In addition, you will find a large number of special forest birds. Today’s route takes you through a hilly landscape with challenging, short climbs. This is highly recommended for cycling enthusiasts who love some technical variety! After the climbs, the surroundings flatten out a bit, and towards the end of the ride, you can wonderfully relax during a descent towards the Budongo Eco Resort.

    • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

    • Accommodation: Budongo Eco Resort

  • Day 10: From Budongo to Red Chilli

Today a varied program is on the schedule. We are in Budongo, an area known for its beautiful nature and special animals. In the morning, you can choose to participate in an optional chimpanzee trek through the forest, a unique opportunity to see these impressive animals in their natural habitat. If you prefer to explore on your own, that is also possible – it’s all about your adventure. In the afternoon, we continue with a short transfer towards the Murchison Falls National Park. The drive itself is an experience in its own right! Pay close attention as there are plenty of wild animals to spot.

    • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

    • Accommodation: Red Chilli Rest Camp

    • Optional Activity: Chimpanzee trek in Budongo € 155.00 p.p. (Not included)

  • Day 11: Relaxing

On this day it is possible to go on a game drive. Searching for wild animals like the Big 5. Let’s be honest: these kinds of adventures are the main reason you come this way! It could very well be that this eleventh day of your trip becomes one of your absolute highlights. Later in the day, you will take a boat trip on the Nile to the Murchison Falls. While enjoying the view of the falls from below, you might spot elephants drinking along the river, see the characteristic bubbles of hippos just below the water’s surface, and perhaps a crocodile gliding by. Nature is fully alive here. Afterward, you will take a hike to the highest point of the falls. It is almost impossible to comprehend how impressive and unique these waterfalls are. The Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge of only 6 meters and then plunges down about 43 meters with enormous force. This is pure natural power in action. You are standing here right opposite one of the most powerful waterfalls on earth, an experience you simply cannot skip.

    • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

    • Accommodation: Red Chilli Rest Camp

    • Optional Activity: Game drive € 100.00 p.p. (Not included)

  • Day 12: Transfer to Kampala

Today is mostly about the ride back to Kampala. This brings the adventure slowly to an end. But don’t let that spoil the fun; there is still plenty to see and experience along the way. Keep looking around and enjoy the final impressions of this beautiful country.
