Our Cause: Ride 4 Girl Child

Support a meaningful initiative: Matany Girls’ Vocational School
At CvA travel, we believe in adventure, cycling and exploration – but also in giving back. We’re committed to supporting the people and places we encounter on our journeys, and to creating a positive impact wherever we ride. One of the projects we support is the Matany Girls’ Vocational School, located in the Karamoja region in north-eastern Uganda. In Karamoja, girls face significant challenges – poverty, limited access to education and healthcare, early marriage, gender-based violence, and the lasting effects of regional conflict. These conditions form a vicious cycle, denying girls the opportunities they rightfully deserve.
Fortunately, in 2011, change began – led by Florence Naduk Nora, a woman born and raised in Karamoja. With support from the Dutch Andreas Manna Foundation, she helped establish the Andreas Manna Foundation Uganda (AMFU) and began building a new future for girls in the region. By taking part in the Tour of Karamoja – a unique fundraising cycling event – you not only discover this remarkable region and experience authentic Ugandan life, but also make a real difference in the lives of young girls. Together with the local community, we work to create better opportunities – through access to education, skills training and employment for young women and girls.
