You would almost think this quality bike was made for Uganda’s rough terrain. As soon as you get on this lightweight aluminium bike you feel confident, take on climbs and shift smoothly through 11 gears, so that you are never in too high or too low a gear and can always keep up.
The Specialized 29er mountain bike Rockhopper has hydraulic disc brakes, tubeless tyres and extra damping from the front fork.
Given the uneven terrain, riding with flat pedals is easiest. Would you still like to use clipless shoes? That is possible too. In that case bring your own clipless pedals, so that our Ugandan team can fit them for you before we set off.
To make your ride as comfortable as possible, there is also a mount for your Garmin, so that your routes are recorded and people at home can share in your adventures.

This e-mountain bike is ideal for Uganda’s rough terrain. It is fitted with a Turbo Full Power 2.0E motor and a 530 Wh battery. Although those figures may not mean much to you, what they mainly mean is that you can ride for hours and have plenty of power to take on climbs. Even the steepest hills and mountain passes are no problem at all with this Tero 3.0.
The motor of the e-mountain bike can of course be adjusted to suit your own effort. Would you rather ride certain sections without too much exertion, or do you enjoy passing everyone else on the demanding stretches? You decide how much assistance you use.
